Our Story

Where
independence
begins

When we started looking for a bed for our child, we struggled to find something that felt simple, beautiful, and aligned with Montessori principles. Many options on the market were either overly themed, bulky, or designed for a very short stage of childhood.

What we really wanted was something timeless — a bed that could grow with our child and remain part of their space for years to come. So we decided to create our own.

The Beginning

A problem we
lived with ourselves

Like many parents drawn to thoughtful, intentional living, we spent hours searching for a bed that matched both our aesthetic and our values. We wanted something that respected our child's need for autonomy — not a crib they were confined to, but a space they could genuinely call their own.

The options we found were disappointing: plasticky finishes, short lifespans, or styles so loud they'd clash with any real home. We kept returning to the same feeling — why doesn't something like this already exist?

The Philosophy

Designed for
independence

Inspired by Montessori philosophy, our floor beds are designed to support a child's natural development from the very start. By keeping the bed low to the ground, children can safely climb in and out on their own — building confidence, spatial awareness, and a genuine sense of freedom within their environment.

This isn't just about safety. It's about giving children agency over their own space — the first small step towards a lifetime of independence.

The Craft

Made to
grow with them

At Nido Nest, we believe children's furniture should grow with the child — not be outgrown within a year or two. Our beds are designed with simplicity, durability, and timeless style, making them a natural fit for different stages of childhood while sitting beautifully in your home.

Every bed is made to order. This lets us focus entirely on quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, ensuring that what arrives in your home is built to last — and worthy of the small person sleeping in it.
