Is the bed safe for babies and toddlers?
Yes — all Nido Nest beds are finished with untreated, FSC-certified pine. No paint, no varnish, no stain. The low-to-floor design and removable safety rails meet Australian safety standards.
What age is a Nido floor bed suitable for?
Most families transition from a cot at 18 months–3 years, but our beds work for children from 6 months (with rails) through to adulthood. The "Grow" range is designed to scale with your child.
What timber is used and is it sustainably sourced?
We use 100% solid FSC-certified pine, sustainably sourced and untreated — no chemicals, no coatings. Safe for sensitive skin and little hands.
What mattress should I use?
Any standard Australian mattress in the corresponding size will fit. We recommend a firm, natural latex mattress for Montessori use — we have partner recommendations available on request.
